Plans to build an 8' x 8' hobby greenhouse. This is the digital version of the printed plans, a 47 page pdf file which includes a complete materials list, full cut list, step by step assembly drawings, and complete detail drawings including drawings for each component and templates to cut angles.

This greenhouse design was developed out of the necessity for an inexpensive, sturdy, functional and aesthetically pleasing alternative to the aluminum and plastic panel greenhouse kits. It is a hobby greenhouse that can be built from standard 2x4 framing lumber and covered with greenhouse plastic or polycarbonate panels. This is a larger versions of my original 6'-10" x 8'-0" greenhouse.

My objective was to create plans that were different from most of the others out there. I wanted to give step by step instructions with assembly drawings so the not-so-handy person could understand them and be able to build a greenhouse. I wanted to include all of the information to make it easy for anyone to build from these plans.

Material prices vary depending on your location, but you can send me a convo and I can send you a materials calculation worksheet so you can calculate the cost to build this greenhouse.

*Plans include a polycarbonate panel cut list & material list if you decide to cover the greenhouse using polycarbonate panels instead of plastic greenhouse film.
**The measurements in these plans are listed in inches, but if you need to convert them to metric there is a metric conversion worksheet included in the download files.

The overall dimensions are 8' wide x 8' long x 99-3/4" high at peak, side walls are 48" high.

There are a few inconsistencies in the drawings but over all they are pretty good and got the job done. We used these plans as a basis to get started then made a few changes along the way. We found the instructions easy to follow and appreciated the materials list.
